Job Ref. BA2307 Travelling Homeschool Teacher & Nanny based in Nassau, Bahamas
A warm, adventurous Scandinavian family of five is embarking on an exciting one to two-year chapter based in Albany, Bahamas. They believe childhood should be filled with curiosity, kindness, nature, adventure, and meaningful experiences.
Their three wonderful children, aged 8, 5, and 3, are bright, active, affectionate, and love being outdoors. The family has chosen a homeschooling lifestyle so the children can learn through travel, exploration, sports, culture, and hands-on experiences.
They are looking for an exceptional person to become an important part of their family. This is a unique opportunity for someone who is passionate about education, loves children, enjoys travel, and wants to help create an unforgettable childhood.
The Role
The family is seeking a live-in Travelling Teacher & Nanny to guide the children's education and care during the parents' working hours, approximately Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating engaging educational experiences, supporting each child's individual learning journey, and encouraging confidence, independence, kindness, and curiosity.
This role combines teaching, childcare, travel, outdoor adventure, and cultural exploration.
Plan and deliver an engaging homeschool curriculum for three children of different ages.
Foster a love of learning through creativity, nature, books, travel, and real-world experiences.
Support one of the children, who is neurodivergent, with patience, understanding, and confidence-building strategies.
Prepare healthy, nutritious meals and snacks for the children.
Drive the children safely to sports, activities, appointments, and outings.
Supervise swimming, beach activities, and outdoor adventures with a strong focus on water safety.
Organise educational outings including museums, libraries, aquariums, parks, and cultural experiences.
Maintain the children's routines while balancing flexibility during travel.
Keep the children's learning spaces, bedrooms, and belongings organised.
Travel extensively with the family throughout the Bahamas, Europe, and other destinations.
Communicate openly with the parents regarding each child's progress, routines, and wellbeing.
The family is looking for someone who is:
A qualified Primary or Early Years teacher, or an experienced Governess.
Fluent in English.
Conversational or fluent in French is preferred.
An excellent swimmer and confident supervising children around water.
A safe, confident driver with a clean driving record.
Passionate about preparing healthy, nutritious food for children.
Experienced working with neurodivergent children, ideally including autism or related learning differences.
Calm, patient, emotionally intelligent, and positive.
Organised and able to thrive in a fast-paced family environment.
Active, energetic, and genuinely loves the outdoors.
Comfortable travelling internationally for extended periods.
Flexible, adaptable, and excited by new adventures.
Warm, playful, and able to build meaningful relationships with children.
A competitive salary based on experience.
Luxury private accommodation provided in a three-bedroom oceanfront penthouse.
All travel expenses covered.
A beautiful home base in Albany, Bahamas.
The opportunity to explore multiple countries as part of the role.
A respectful, supportive, and appreciative family environment.
The chance to make a lasting impact on three wonderful children during an exciting chapter of their lives.
The family believes childhood should be an adventure.
They value curiosity over perfection, growth over grades, and connection over competition.
They encourage their children to be kind, resilient, confident, and independent. They want them to ask questions, solve problems, take healthy risks, and learn from both success and failure.
They believe learning happens everywhere—in books, on hiking trails, at the beach, in museums, around the dinner table, while travelling, and through meaningful conversations with the people they meet.
They spend as much time outdoors as possible and believe fresh air, movement, sport, creativity, and unstructured play are essential parts of a happy childhood.
Above all, they hope to raise children who are curious about the world, compassionate towards others, grateful for what they have, and courageous enough to create a life they love.
If this sounds like the adventure you've been looking for, we would love to hear from you.
